Part 3: The Adventures Continued...

...The ongoing saga of Ong and Ba Adams on their way to the park to be more visible and recognizable to people...  We may get there yet!

We did!

And this was the park...

And this park was full of older men playing the game of Chinese Chess, which Allen was told he should learn so he can play with the older men in the park, I guess!

And then we walked home again and found other treasures on the way home...  Dragons for Sadie...

These are bats again. Someday I'll learn why bats are a big deal around here.

And Allen's alter-ego.

This was begun and finished on Wednesday, November 6.

Thursday, November 7, we had a friend from California arrive in Hanoi in preparation for his gnarly motorcycle tour in the north. We had the afternoon with him and his friend so we hurried over to the famous Water Puppet show and got in at the last minute.
It's the crane, sacred in Vietnam.

This is hard to see, but the turtle is giving the sword to the ruler. This was the portrayal of the       Vietnamese legend.
The musicians were on both sides of the water stage.

And here are the actual performers who controlled all the puppets.

Once we left the theater, we went once more to the Gnoc Son Temple on Hoan Kiem Lake so our friends could see it. And then we grabbed a Grab to see Train Street again!

Here's a different way to travel!

And here's train street at night!

We had hoped for a train, but the one we were there for was canceled and we didn't want to hang around for 2 more hours, so we wandered away.

And we found St. Joseph's Cathedral at night!

This was the night of the best pho I've had in Vietnam, and it was at a place where we wouldn't have thought it was safe. It was sooo good...  And safe.

One last temple and we called it a night.

And I'll leave you with the sun going down over the bridge at the Gnoc Son Temple.
Tam Biet!
