Time Flies...
This week has come and gone in a blur of busy-ness. We had all kinds of little things each day, and a few bigger things toward the end of the week. They all added up to a major feeling of time flying by, because March is more than half over!
Monday was the birthday of Elder Felt in our district, and since it was p-day, he chose to go to a Korean BBQ restaurant for lunch. Vietnam being what it is, we took a Grab to the location, and looked...
...and looked...
Allen had a meeting with the branch presidency; I prepared and taught my music class (it has changed from a class on conducting music to a class on beginning piano); we helped with another English activity at 4:00; and our BIG EVENT once again was a baptism at 5:30 pm. Today it was a double baptism!
Pictured here are our 4 district missionaries, one member who was baptized last month, the 2 who were baptized today, and one who is scheduled to be baptized in 2 weeks.
... and had to admit that it wasn't there, even though Google maps said it was.
So we went to the NEXT mall...
...crossed some dangerous areas...
...and made it safely to the restaurant!

I had to decide if I wanted any sashimi... Nope.
The REAL celebration came the next day after our District Council Meeting when we had cake and ice cream--homemade banana cake!
We filled our week with service and meetings and teaching and preparing...(LOTS of preparing)...
Monday afternoon we met a Sister at the dental clinic to help with the financial end of things;
Tuesday evening we helped at the missionary Game Night;
Wednesday I bravely got my hair cut for the first time in Vietnam (success!!);
Thursday evening we helped with English activity;
Friday evening we taught Family Home Evening and discussed the role of prophets;
Saturday we were at the church building from 1:30 pm to 8:45 pm.

Our branch Relief Society provides some delicious food for these baptisms!
The "friends" the missionaries teach are filled with a desire to do what's right and to follow Jesus Christ. They sometimes have support from their families, but often they do not. Allen talked recently with a member who still has not told his parents about his baptism, as he would be cut off by them, and he needs to finish school first.

At their baptisms, the new members are given the opportunity to bear their testimonies, and they are a joy to hear as they share their experiences and feelings about their newfound faith. THIS is why we are serving a mission. THIS is why we love to work with these young missionaries.
We love Vietnam; we love the people; we love our family. We are grateful for your thoughts and prayers.
